The Inner Game of Golf (W. Timothy Gallwey)
Probably the inspiration for many coaching careers. Everything in this book holds true for coaching in just about any environment. Useful as either a self development or coaching manual. It might even improve your golf.
The original was The Inner Game of Tennis, Timothy developed his theories after losing a match point that ultimately cost him the title.

Influencing With Integrity (Genie. Z. Labourde)
For anyone that wants to know more about NLP and be able to apply it to their life or business this book is an essential. Simply written it de-mystifies much of the NLP jargon.

Co-Active coaching (Whitworth, Kimsey-House, Sandahl)
This is a process book. It offers much in the way of the building blocks for building and managing a coaching business. Invaluable in building a business from a process perspective, there are more practical books out there for developing coaching skills. Well worth the investment if you are going to coach for a living.

Mapping the Mind (Rita Carter)
If you need to know how things work this is a must. Even if you have no interest in coaching or NLP you will find this book fascinating. It takes the function of the most complex processor known to man (the brain)and explains it all in layman’s language supported by simple graphics.

Eat that Frog (Brian Tracy)
Metaphor is a great way to communicate and what better metaphor to conjure up the feelings associated with doing the things that you know you should but somehow keep putting off. It is chatty informative, jargon free and practical. Of course it might not have the impact if you are french so maybe it should read eat that live frog?
